A STUBBLE of chaps, including a cautious crew of firemen, volunteered to go under the knife when an old-fashioned barbers opened with cut-throat razors.
Demon barber Mark Sproston – known as the Shave Doctor – was on hand to train staff at McKenzie-Kent’s in Oxford Street, Whitstable, but he needed an endless supply of men to act as bearded guinea-pigs.
